NBD is a NYE (new yeast Envie). Very topical acronym I felt.
"Working" on some sous Vide chicken breasts. Going with the "undercooked" method. I'm placing my trust in Serious Eats.

Am I the only one not noticing a real difference between the two Envies, other than the haze?

Hope that's not true. Did not have time today to drop by 504 and get some.

I agree that Envie taste isn't much different. It definitely tasted like some of the best batches I've had. Sorry you struck out, tdeuce. They have plenty for distro...try to talk them out of some. My NBD is an Opus.....

I personally don't find a huge difference between the two

Haven't had a fresh one of the others in a while to compare.
Honestly, this wouldn't surprise me at all though. For the average craft beer drinker, picking up yeast flavor differences is going to very difficult to do. If anything, presence of more yeast actually adds an off flavor for some folks. The one big difference I'll bet people will pick up on in "flavor" is mouthfeel and what I refer to as "bite". This is more rounded and very soft on the tounge.

All that said, I think this beer is still fantastic. I think they got what they got what they were after. A hazy, yeasty, hoppy AF pale ale. It drinks great.

ETA: the assumptions I made above about others' tastes really reflect my impressions of the beer YRMV

It's still a really good beer. Didn't know if I should have been expecting something different with all the hype.

NBD. My last pre-12/21 Envie. The 12/21s are iced down.
