Is this a season or year round? Because I could put a hurtin on this in the heat of the summer.

It used to be listed as a seasonal, but it's not anymore. Maybe it'll be year round now? I, like you, hope so. It's a very easy drinker.

No beer today. Sorry for your loss HoustonChick.

You'll have to wait until next year to find out then. 3 episode seasons are great that way.

( I assume you are talking about the BBC show, right?)

Benedict Cumberbatch FTW...

I love the BBC's format... but I hate how long it takes production sometimes... 2 years for last season of Luther, 1.5 years for season 3 of Sherlock... who knows how long for Utopia and Broadchurch...

Try Downton Abbey, Utopia (a little more out there, about a comic book that can predict the future) and Broadchurch (about a child murder)... all very solid programming coming out of the UK

Looks a little dark for an IPA, just the pic?

Yea, the picture is accurate. Must use Scottish malts.

Thanks for all the support, the krewe of FBD is good people. We had a safe trip, it's snowing here and we've found a few local beers.

That's the one that was a homebrew comp winner. I think there were some restrictions on the malt and hop bill that might make it more of an English IPA.

FBD - Parish Grand Reserve. Much, much different from Mother of all Storms.

Actually, I asked Bruiser if Anonymous was the homebrew winner, and he said no. The homebrew one was a one and done. At least according to him.

Oh ok.

Hmm.

I feel like making a comment about why small breweries don't just copy insanely successful recipes such as Bells THA or something similar but whatever.

Yea, it doesn't taste English to me. None of that earthiness or spice.

You've got me. I'll make that comment. I don't understand why it is so hard for a local brewery around here to produce an exceptionally good IPA/DIPA. Is it a big secret? The information has got to be out there. Like you said, just take a proven winner, put a few personal touches on it and see how it goes. I know the water is different, but the adjustments can't be that tricky, right? I must be over-simplifying it. And do breweries ever set up tasting panels to try and gauge if the beer will be a winner? I've had better hoppy beers from Louisiana homebrewers.

Can't imagine using this as a crutch. Hell, some sort of reverse osmosis setup or filtration/mineral addition could solve these problems.

Most rural houses now have water softeners, that's the same concept.
