I'm assuming it's the South African hops that give it a spicier flavor than previous editions. This one tastes most balanced but that's a vague memory

Citra can be dank. Citra hops smell of more than citrus. There is a lot of underlying dank smelling/tasting qualities to it, as well. It's not quite as up front as with some of the other C hops, but it's definitely there and can be brought out by the brewer.
