hell, I know of at least two places in Montgomery that are getting 10 cases each of ghost. And several other places that are getting multiple kegs. It's only a matter of time before mavens start calling it overhyped

FBD - Free Flow is Block 15's effort at getting into the summer IPA action. This is a home run. I could seriously drink the shite out of this.

You like what you like and I thought that regular Bloom was better than the DDH version and neither better than Ghost.

too many breweries are trying to load their beers up with Cites and Galaxy hops and make them taste like juice. I would !ike to see breweries vary it up a bit more...

There’s validity to this. It’s great when breweries stretch their boundaries a little bit. Trillium has a Nelson IPA tomorrow (probably a batch of Stillings St. that didn’t hit the numbers but has the new fermentation profile, but I haven’t heard anything about it — could be a new one-off) and just dropped DDH Melcher (Mosaic). Last week was El Dorado Fort Point. Today was Mosaic Fort Point. DDH Scaled Friday (El Dorado/Citra). A couple weeks ago was DDH Publick House that is way more WCIPA in styling. It’s a lot of juice, but I find that the flavors are so diverse that I don’t get bored with it. That’s the benefit of doing literally hundreds of hoppy beers, I guess. And if last summer is any indication, and the brewers that have visited, in a few weeks the collaboration beers will start dropping like crazy.

Am I only one that doesn't really care about collabs? I think they hold back more than go all out.

Collabs are hit-or-miss in my experience. Trilliums stouts that they do with The Veil and J. Wakefield have been solid. On the other hand, I didn’t care for Trilliums Human Adult and Adult Human series of IPAs with The Veil. But the Other Half collab IPAs were excellent. I honestly don’t think there’s any rhyme or reason to it. But they will always generate hype. Sometimes warranted, sometimes not.

The hype is usually greater than the beer for the local ones. Except for that Baa Baa/Laser/THE Larry Koestler collab. That shite fucced on pernt.

No beer tonight, just a few Tom Collinses to take the edge of new car buyer's remorse.
