Out of all the humboldt breweries, eel river is like my 5th favorite. If you can find mad river beers, anything from their steelhead line or jamican beers are good. The steelhead double ipa is boss.

There was also steelhead and I almost pulled the tripper on it, but I was in a hurry to get home and cook dinner. I will be making another run for beer soon and will grab that DIPA.

FBD. North Coast Acme IPA
Nice beer, not too hoppy and a bit of malt sweetness.

going all out for dessert :)

Weird how it pours with almost no head... I've never had a barrel aged beer before, is this common?

It depends on the beer, but barrel aged stouts as a style generally have low carbonation levels compared to other beers.

I figured as much.. it makes sense, it's easier for carbonation to escape against a wooden barrel than a metal one.

anyway, the beer was good.. drank more like a spirit than a beer though. I prefer the Beer Geek Breakfast.

It's a solid pale ale and relatively low abv, so it would be great for a day of drinking

Could use a bit more hops, but has that "Ballast Point" taste to it, guess that's in the malt

dude these mikeller/tool collabs hide the mikkeller name. I didnt know mine was a collab until you said that and i went back to check the label.

I didnt know over all iipa was a collab until rutiger pointed it out to me.

One thing i can say is that they nakw great beer when these two combine their powers

I was a huge fan. Except for the price tag.

I was only there about an hour. There was a group of people in the main bar that appeared to be regulars, but I did not know any of them. Boo was there taping his radio show. A beer group, some of which post here, was in the front bar with the taps and I did visit with them.

Reached for that on the store shelf today. Then my "cheap arse" alarm went off. I blew air out of my nose and walked on.
