FBD & SBD: Lefthand Milk Stout. Coworker and I went to lunch. Beer drinking ensued. Now I've got to get through the rest of the day at my desk, when all I want to do is head home to keep drinking... ....

Very nice! Where else do you plan on going? You are visiting, right? If so I would suggest:

Magnolia Brewery and Gastropub on Haight St.
Toronado on Haight Street.
La Trappe on Greenwich Street
City Beer on Folsom (I think)
21st Amendment on 2nd Street

Thanks a bunch for all the tips. We did lunch at Magnolia the other day, dinner at La Trappe. Both were amazing. Unfortunately Toronado was closed for a beer dinner when we walked past, so we may try to go tonight. Not sure if I will be able to convince my wife to go to 21st even though it is fairly close to where we are right now.. We went to Thirsty Bear on a whim and it was pretty good. All in all fantastic beer trip, however the highlight so far was Russian River yesterday. I'm hoping anchor supersedes it in a few, waiting in the tasting room.

I hate it when that happens.

No FBD until this evening for me. Will likely have a beer at The Box tonight.

i'm starting to remember why i try to avoid this....i'm not motivated to do anything...whole afternoon is shot...

i'm pretty close to shutting down early, heading home, and hanging out in the backyard the rest of the afternoon.

Unexpected huh? Sure...

I had a Thomas Creek Banana Split Chocolate Stout and a New South Nut Brown Ale in between classes. However, that's a expected, common occurrence for me.

Yeah, I am not sure that Anchor will be better than Russian River. Glad that you are hitting up some great beer spots!

Beer wise probably not, but tour/atmosphere wise it will be. Russian River felt like mellow mushroom outside of the beer.

They make up for a lot with the beer....

Enjoy the Anchor tour. I didn't realize Fritz sold it a few years ago.

True dat! Russian River has a "our beer is fricking awesome we don't need to be fancy or extravagant" attitude.

I can't do it either. The only time I have drinks at lunch is on a Friday when I don't have to go back to work. Go home.

Yes. Not a great selection of beer in there by any means, but more choices than BMC. I usually drink Tin Roof Blonde draft or Hoegaarden.

This is on my list. The only Great Divide I've tried is the Titan IPA, which was excellent.
