I don’t normally play anymore, but I can’t leave a good man to drown. Probably gonna drink a few tonight and be hungover tomorrow. Bad family news is the worst.

We’ve said it before in this thread, but frick cancer

Modern medicine is incredible. Things should be fine in the long run, but it’s always a bitch to find out that diagnosis has hit a parent. Or anyone in your family. Or that you care about.

Doing my best No8 impression and hitting a coffee bump. Tiny pour just because I think that glass is stupid and funny. I filled her up proper after the pic.

FBD is gnarvana with some kleine fruchtsaftBären from a friend.

It is strange. The Gnarvana tastes fresh but it was apparently brewed around the time of the jamboree. It is still excellent!

Modern medicine is incredible, and I can only imagine what it will be like 30 years down the road.

Thanks, Kim. He’s beaten a few heart issues before, so I’m confident he’ll do the same here. But let’s talk beer. It’s a good distraction for me since I finished grading tests.

This is a simple wild ale. No fruit. No barrel. When it dropped it was about $10/4 pack. That’s dirt cheap for a sour. I was told they had some old arse hops that they intentionally stored away with the hope that they would get funky weird blue cheesey as could be. So using hops in the way that hops are used in lambic production. This beer has the James Brown funk. It’s barnyard-like, I’m feeling a lot of borderline overripe apple/apple juice, grassiness that’s slightly floral, slight grape and and lemon on the finish. Tart without being acetic. I want Trillium to explore this dimension of wild ales more. This is my wheelhouse.

Maybe the most interesting thing about this beer is the body. She thicc (for the style). Really coats the mouth. Not accustomed to this much heft from this style, but I don’t hate it. Drinks light in flavor and ABV, I’d guess much lower than 6.2%, but has a cling to it that somehow turns it into a sipper.

I totally understand. Changes your perspective. Don't take your loved ones for granted. I pray that everything goes as expected.

Enjoying an FBD while my wife is shopping for dinner. She has something in mind for me that's supposed to be healthy. This will calm my nerves.

FBD is an Avery Plank'd.

Sorry to hear that yeezy, hoping the best for your family.

FBD is “Secular Haze”. This MF’er won’t quit. Definitely brewing this beer again. [/img]

Thanks, Jax. I know you’ve seen some shite.

This is gonna be my last one.

Stark contrast from the last. Fruited and barreled. Saison that is inoculated with a house culture in Chardonnay casks, then aged on apricots for a couple months. Sharp, tart, and noticeably sour, this is not a subtle beer. But the sour is somewhat balanced by waves of fleshy apricot. I really enjoy this one in the 330 mL bottles because it’s perfect to enjoy alone.

Sounds like a winner yeezy. I have switched to brown for the night. I am cutting back on beer during the week for caloric reasons. I'll be back at it this weekend. MLK Day is Monday, so I guess you have a 3 day weekend too.
