I'll be looking for the guy smoking American Spirits with a pair of Wayfares on. Shouldn't be too hard to spot.

I'm not picky, I'm always down to try anything. Gourds of Thunder would be magnificent.

FBD and 2BD were Parish Dr. Hoptagon and Surly Coffee Bender, shared with B. Both excellent beers. Dr. Hoptagon was a first time try and I really liked it. Great fresh, bright hops on the nose that integrate into the roasted flavors so well. Start to finish, it is solid. KInda pricey, but a good beer.

3BD is a Surly Furious.

What I expected. I've had their IPA (Total Domination) and was underwhelmed. Too many good ones available to waste time on it. Was at dinner one time and had a Ninkasi and a 10 Barrel IPA back-to-back and the 10 Barrel was much better. Not that the 10 Barrel was world class, but it was pretty solid, IMHO.

Gulf shores is the piggly wiggly in foley, think that is one of the only maven friendly locations.

Going to fla means about 2.5hrs round trip because you have to go all the way in to Pcola

The piggly wiggly in foley is maven approved... Also, the cottage hill package store in mobile has a good selection, but it's about 20 minutes off the interstate

Fbd. Aroma is moderate citrus hops quickly followed by a alcohol/roast combo. Taste is smoother than the aroma would let on. I expected a sharper bitterness, but it's pretty balanced by roasty coffee malt. Smooth mouthfeel quickly turns watery and leaves bitterness. Kind of leaves you hanging.

It's not bad. Actually better than I expected. It just needs that brief initial silliness to last and it'd be a really good beer.

Eta: silkiness, not silliness.

FBD is SS Valkyrie, the new canned version. Huge hop nose. Closer to what I remember of Pro Am. You're not going to sit and drink these all day. Massive bitterness on the back end.

FBD is a Toppling Goliath PseudoSue.

Wow, what a wonderful showcase of Citra. Fantastic aroma and bursting with tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors. A little pineyness as well. Very light bodied and drinkable. This may be the best pale ale I've ever had.
