Took a flyer on a Fantome - Hill Farmstead collab. I bought more than 1 so I hope it's good.

It's way more Fantome than it is HF. If you've had anything from Fantome, then you know their distinct aroma and taste.

Checked BA and ratebeer and it gets panned fairly bad. 78 on BA and 83 on RB.

I liked last year's Pro-Am and hoped that the Valkyrie would be the same. I don't think that it is.

Them and BA both seem to fall victim to group think. It is always funny to see when they wildly vary on a beer.

Ratebeer seems to be more generous with high ratings.

5BD is a Timber Beast.

perhaps, but ratebeer is a far worse offender. that site's scoring system is out of whack. BA is a lot more objective.

NBD is another ST 2X Milk Stout.

Have noticed this as well. The untappd app does a decent job, but I try not to get caught up in the rating, but rather the reviews. Even though I don't get half of the abbreviations

how much is this in yall's neck of the woods?

over here on the east coast, it's $11.99 for a four pack. is it worth that price?

I couldn't help but chuckle when I saw the price, but then I turned around and grabbed a four pack of Ten Fidy

It is good. Great hop nose followed by roasty goodness.

I think that's because people saw Hill Farmstead in the name and looked past the Fantome part of the name. If one is not expecting the musky bandaid of Fantome, then they're in for a surprise, especially when it's on the cooler side. My first Fantome was an experience. Almost tetu'd it, but gave it 15-20 minutes to warm and breathe, and it turned into a fantastic beer. Fantome throws out some weird phenols that need to clear before enjoying it.

Thanks for the advice Bottomland.

I shared Fantome stuff before, but don't have a bunch of experience with it.
