I'm looking to expand my casual wine repertoire.
I'm thinking between $10 and $18. Any suggestions?
Some that I already like in that category:
-Dynamite
-Freak Show
-Smith & Hook
-Rodney Strong

While not entirely Cab, Ive always found there is a lot of decent, inexpensive Bordeaux sitting on the shelves of wine and grocery stores. Some of it is actually pretty good. Literally no one but the Chinese and Russian Oligarchs can afford the high end Bordeaux and so the rest of the wine drinking world has little reason to buy any of the lower end stuff.
Anywho, give it a whirl.

I never pass up BV (Beaulieu Vineyard) Cab
Franciscan Cab can be had for just a couple dollars more, and it's good
Ferrari-Carrano is same as Franciscan- about $2 more

I know you said Cabs, but the Kirkland's Meritage is excellent.

Highway 12
Can find it at rouses for 17 bucks. Stumbled on it at Chops in Atlanta which is a top steakhouse. It's their #1 selling bottle.

I'm not sure if it's considered a "budget" cab, but I really enjoy the Louis Martini Napa and the Clos du Val. There both around 30. Considering what you can pay for cabs, it's not to pricy. The Louis Martini Sonoma is not to shabby either IMO around $20.
