I love them....meat mushrooms as I just heard on TV. Anyone cook them at home? I haven't...yet. But, if they're on the menu, it's like fois gras...I order it.

Ole Metry for me. Cooked by my grandmother when I was 6. I am now going to cry for a minute.

Great classic style, but I am a big fan of Antione's Escargots a la Bordelaise too.

They're merely ok to me. Every now an then I'll get a hankering for some snails but theyre not a must have for me. Same with the fois.

Snails basted and baked in a red wine and garlic sauce, crowned with a delicious mixture of cheeses and French bread crumbs

Thanks. Sounds like the way I first had them back in the eary '80's. You could prepare a boot that way and it'd be good.

My wife and I had them together for the first time on the Rive Gauche (left bank) in Paris at La Cochonaille with some friends...a quaint little restaurant. My wife loved them so much, she ordered escargot for desert as well (she was pregnant at the time)

Steamed dipped in a fish sauce, sugar, ginger, chili paste, and lemon mixed sauce.

Stir fried with onions, parsley, curry powder, salt and pepper.

Vietnamese slaw called "Goi Oc"... it's the bomb.

What is not to like?

Right

I had them once with a red wine and mushroom sauce at Christiano's in Houma. Definitely not my favorite thing that I've had there.
