Sufficiently fed. Here is how ours went.

You are seated and a champagne cart appears. You can grab a glass of champagne or not. Then waiter takes your drink order. You are then taken into the kitchen where you get a first bite and are shown the produce and products that make up that days tasting menu.

Head back to table and the first selection of canapes is on the table and your drinks delivered. Another round of canapés. Then menus and discussion about the courses and such. Salmon cheesecake comes out, fish course, meat course, palate cleanser (snowball), dessert, and mignardises. Then with the bill a to go packet with cold brew cafe au lait, apple crumble tart, and signed menus of what you actually ordered (same move as TFL).

It’s expensive but it’s worth it and well done. And no one in city, state, or region comes close to that level.

wife and I had dinner at zasu tonight. If indeed the ratings are based solely on food, the star here is more than deserved

we had the octopus and tuna crudo apps, the Bibb lettuce and pear salad, the lentil pirogies and the trout special, pistachio cheesecake for dessert. All of it was delicious and exceptionally well executed. Service was rather impersonal (probably just that particular server) but I would not call it polished in any case. The dining room is really small and thus really loud, and it was freezing cold. 10/10 on the food, less so on atmosphere.

sue z is a superstar (was at gautreau’s for a long time) and I’m really happy for them

Well deserved. Food was incredible and service was outstanding. Glad I had a chance to go before this happened. Now it will be a 2 year wait to get a reservation.

Emeril’s and Saint-Germain got what they deserved, certainly.

Big misses in my opinion:

Gautreau’s
Clancy’s
GW Finn’s
Lilette
Arnaud’s
Miss River
Commanders
Saffron
Brennan's
Brightsen’s
