Friend of mine went last weekend, don't think it changed her life or anything, but said she enjoyed her experience.

Went yesterday for lunch.

Very small but nice on the inside. 14 tables maybe.

Nothing out of the ordinary as far as food goes.

It should do well honestly. Lots of bocage ppl it seemed like bc everyone knew someone in there

I've been. It was pretty good. Like said above, not life changing, but good. I meant to make a post about it but I forgot.

Fried oysters were legit and I am not a big oyster guy.

Friend had the gumbo and crab cakes and said both were good.

Shrimp poboy was good on traditional N.O. Poboy bread. The shrimp were a bit larger than I like for poboys as I prefer an overstuffed poboy with popcorn shrimp but they were good nonetheless.

Would go back.

First thread I've seen on it here, my parents have been talking about it non stop for weeks, they claim the gumbo is fantastic.

Agree with the previous post.... not life changing, but the food was solid. Just enough things on the menu to be able to satisfy just about anything you are feeling.

Owners were very nice and the service was very good and attentive. They worked for the Brennan's folks for a long time. They said everything is house made and fresh seafood is brought in daily.

Definitely will go back. If you need a pick me up after dinner try the flaming Spanish coffee. It's made with 151, so it isn't for non-drinkers....

I started out with the meatball app. Sauce was good and the meatballs were as well.

GF got the C & S gumbo which I ate as well. It was good but nothing incredible. It came with lots of sausage and chicken which was nice.

I had a burger which was pretty fire. I forgot to tell waiter on the medium side so it was slightly over cooked but was delicious regardless.

She got crab cakes. They were huge and filled with tons of crab meat.

its a nice place but small as i mentioned

What type of food is it? Is the menu similar to Beau Soleil?

Wife and I went for lunch last week. The restaurant is much nicer on the inside than I expected it to be. We weren't terribly hungry so I can't report back on the appetizers. My wife had the chicken bruschetta sandwich.... it was pretty large to be honest. She really enjoyed it but wasn't able to finish it. I had grilled cobia with the herb-lemon vinaigrette. It was really well cooked and made for a nice light lunch. We will definitely go back.

I meant to post this in Vegasbombed's last post, but was on mobile. I went last week and asked the bartender what the story of the restaurant is because I hadn't heard much.

The owners are a husband and wife. He comes from Commander's Palace and she is front of the house. They want to serve good Louisiana food and they are very responsive to their guests in that they will take a crappy item off the menu or place items on the menu that people request.

They have not marketed much as they want to get everything right.

IMO, they need to get a little more creative, but the food was good (all I had was an oyster poboy), atmosphere was nice and the bartender was pleasant. The waiter station at the bar was a little weird, but I was sitting right next to it.

I feel that the menu will evolve because the chef is from Commanders and the clientele will demand it.

clientele

As i mentioned, I felt like it was half Bocage people. Everyone seemed to know each other or were acquaintances. I feel like they will keep the place a float because it is very nice on the inside, small, elegant, etc.

I've been a few times and everything has been pretty good. Pretty good place to bring a client or have a work lunch. Not too loud and a bit nicer than most casual spots.

The crawfish and spinach dip is excellent. I've had the cochon poboy, burger and red beans all very good.

Tried my wife's crawfish pasta and it was a bit dry for me but she liked it.

They also gave us a Spanish coffee to try and as someone previously said it was very good but strong!

Went to Eliza on Friday night. The family's combined palate is less than refined so read on with caution.

We started by ordering the crawfish and spinach dip. It was good but not overly flavorful. I probably would have preferred something different - probably try the gumbo on a return trip.

The wife and kid split crawfish pasta. That's a go to item of theirs and they rarely try something new if they see their favorites. And I'm not going to argue.

I was trying to decide between grilled fish or the crabcakes. The waiter pushed the crabcakes big time so I went with it. I found the crabcakes to be ok but nothing special that night. It came with fries and their maque choux which was fine.

The wife and daughter liked theirs. The daughter got a homemade brownie with ice cream which of course was her favorite of the night.

I'd return and order other items. I thought for the cost it could have been a bit better but it was a nice little place that I'll give another try.

On an added note, I thought it a bit weird that the waiter kept reminding us that he was born and raised in New Orleans so he KNOWS what this and that is supposed to taste like. It's not like we're two states away trying to mimic Louisiana cooking here. I'm from NOLA originally too so woopty doo. It was just strange the way he came off - I guess he was trying too hard.

We finally made it to try out and liked it a lot. Really good for a neighborhood place. Crab cakes and shrimp remoulade salad were very good. Drinks were good and the banana pudding was great. Nice change for Jefferson Hwy corridor.

I've been a couple times for lunch and ordered po-boys. They are legit. I was told they get Leidenheimer bread delivered each morning. I thought it had a nice vibe. Great service on both visits. Will definitely be back.
