Have a convention in Atlanta March 6-10. Taking customers out every night but I have to organize 6/8. We are at the Omni attached to the Convention Center. Probably need a room for 12-15 people. Any recommendation close by? Thanks

PS open to short distance taxi. customers are from Grapevine and New Orleans
we only meet once a year so generous budget

It's in Midtown so not too far but South City Kitchen is great.

South City is Marginal at best ... Downtown's options are terrible.

You aren't far from the Westside ... I would recommend Cooks and Soldiers, Marcel or the Optimist.

All have some space, good atmosphere and food.

I really like White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails. It handles large groups well too.

Sorry you wanted something close by...

Ormsby's if it's a "fun" group... or Barcelona Wine bar is pretty solid. Not sure about having a separate room though.

Ruth's Chris is right across the street - a chain but good.

Best steakhouse imo is Kevin Rathbun's but that's an Uber ride. Chop's, Bones and Hal's are good steakhouse options too but I think KR's is the best.

Ray's in the City is good. Seafood heavy and been there for decades. Walkable but some might think it's too far to walk.

Alma Cocina: Nuevo Mexican - Great Agave program. Head across the street to Meehan's for after dinner whisky.

The Optimist: One of the better seafood restaurants in ATL

Those are my two choices if I'm booking.

12-15 people is gonna be tough to book for a great restaurant 2 weeks out. Hals is my favorite steakhouse by far and where I would take anyone for my favorite dinner in Atlanta. It’s buckhead and a cab ride for sure, but honestly anything pretty good will be.

If I have 2 spots to woo people in Atlanta I’m going to Hals, Optimist, Marcel or Gunshow.

Rathbuns, Bones or Chops are all great as well. Poor Calvin’s, Miller Union, or Two Urban Licks may be some other options if you can’t find spots at the others.

Downtown ATL sucks for food choices.

This is different from the steakhouse recs, but if it’s a fun group, Amore E Amore is like a 10 minute cab ride from downtown. It’s also not really a hassle once you get there either like Buckhead is. Get dropped off, walk right in.

Good Italian food, GREAT atmosphere.

Both time I went they had the whole place decorated for whatever holiday it was at the time, and it’s a whole theme for the restaurant. Like we went a couple weeks ago, and it was all decorated for Valentines and they played love songs from Dean Martin to Rihanna, and then about 7:30 once the early bird romantics started filing out, they cranked up the YMCA and started passing out hats and glow sticks for everybody.

Would be good fun for a crowd that doesn’t get together much.

Another vote for Hal's. It seems like the perfect place to entertain customers.
