Had a neighbor who was first gen immigrant from Croatia....this is a big thing there.
He let me try some and it was THE shite!
Not sure where he got it from or how he got it back, but lost touch with him and want to try to get some.
Googled but figure Id come straight to the source...any ideas on where I can acquire this delicacy?

I don't think you can buy equine meat in the US for human consumption.
There is a huge Croat community in Da Parish. Maybe someone has a hook up.

Correct, which is unfortunate. I had horse when in Italy and it was actually quite good. I read it was somewhere between beef and venison, and that description was spot on when I ate it.

I had pickled donkey stomach and a donkey roast in China. It wasn't terrible, but I won't ever be eating anything donkey again.
Here I am on the 4th of July 2018 immediately after eating donkey. This was right outside the restaurant. The donkey here was next up to be butchered.

When I was Stationed in Kenya, there was a restaurant we use to go to, called The Carnivore, that was in the style of Texas de Brazil, They had what they called the Beast Feast and brought around all different meats and Ill tell you Zebra was flat out delicious.

I’ve eaten horse in Italy and France. It was tasty, closer to venison in flavor than to beef. (Beef has such a corn-fat flavor)

Those tougher meats just need a little slow cooking and I’m sure you can get it to taste pretty good

Even the donkey looks Asian.
