Does anyone know if the bakery runs out of King Cakes daily?
I will be in the NOLA area Tuesday and wanted to buy a few as gifts. TIA

I’ve never had a problem getting one. It’s out in the East, in the middle of nowhere, so there isn’t much in the way of a mad rush to get out there.

Also, pick up some of their baguettes while you’re there. They’re great!

Yes, they run out of cakes at times. There are always more coming, but you’d best call ahead if you have a schedule to keep.

Yes but they have drop off points all over the city, this year. Try one of them.

I picked up a few in their waiting line while I had online orders to pick up. They limit each person to 3 cakes. The 2nd time my friend got in line they were out of cream cheese king cakes. This was around 11:30am.

Tried twice to get their cakes. They ran out both times.

They make them all day, I went last year during MG right before closing(4:30ish??) & they were rolling out a new batch. I’d call ahead

I had one of these for the first time over the weekend. And honestly, the hype around it all is COMPLETELY warranted. One of the best king cakes I've ever had, like really really good.

I should go pick one up then? I’m less than 5 minutes from the bakery. I never really liked anything from there, but I probably should have tried the steamed bread things they sell.

No doubt that's the way to go. Earliest date for store pickup right now is Feb. 03.

I was in New Orleans last week and decided to get one before leaving town Friday morning, even though it was 25 minutes in the wrong direction. Got there 20 minutes before they opened and the line was already 50 people deep, but I waited anyway. What a great decision. It's so much better than I thought it could be. Everyone we've let try it agrees.

There is a snowball stand in Kenner that sells them for $28 plus tax (so like $30)
But saves me an hour driving, so worth it.

On vintage, it's called Flavor's. They are right by where Ole Miss crosses Vintage, next to the Chateau Supermarket.

They have regular, cream filled and pecan.
$28

saves drive and line

55% markup.

And they aren't on that list of retail outlets.
