Domestic Microwave vs. Commercial Microwave

I posted this on Home and Garden and didn’t get very many responses. Posting here to see if anyone has any thoughts or advice.
Our PTO needs to purchase a new microwave for the teachers lounge at the school. Should we spend the extra money on a commercial grade?
If so, any suggestions on brand or specific specs to look for?
Thanks in advance for your response.

For what reason would teachers need a commercial microwave?
Do they heat/cook large amounts?

I don’t really know what the difference is but I am sure a regular microwave can handle reheating a teachers lunch. Might be best to get 2 regular microwaves instead of spending $$ on 1 commercial.

No, they are not cooking or heating large amounts but the microwaves they have get a lot of use. There are approximately 50 teachers and from 10:30 to 12:30 Monday through Friday someone is using the microwave. I was thinking light duty commercial might be the way to go because I read where they are designed to handle a higher volume of usage. Light duty commercial is not that much more expensive than a domestic. Downside is commercial doesn’t have a turntable. I was thinking that light duty commercial might last longer.

Wattage
Household microwaves have 800-1200 watts
Commercial microwaves can be as high as 2000 watts
More watts = more power = quicker cooking time.

That's a lot of folks in a short period of time, even if you have a light duty commercial oven. Maybe the suggestion of having two ovens if space and budget allows would also help with multiple users at one time and the number of folks using the same oven daily.
If using a commercial oven, I would suggest making sure they all know that these are stronger and cook faster. My Mom's oven is more powerful than mine and my sister's and we've both obliterated some things in it since she got it because cook time is so much shorter than with our ovens. It took time for us to get used to it and we still burn popcorn from time to time. That's darn stinky.

Buy a $49 from WalMart...all they need.
I have been a teacher for over 35 years...they are reheating leftovers or frozen dinners and most are geared towards the 900 or so watts.
When they fail, buy another....
can buy a lot of $49 microwaves in place of one commercial one.
