I love eating them. There is a lot of flavor and crunch. My family thinks it’s weird

Some adults eat both and the heads as well. The heads are delicious when done properly.

Hell yes! I also remove the legs/internal meat from head and fry that. I call them spiders.

no but i like fish tails and spider shrimp, spider shrimp is what i call big shrimp heads. i take the big ones like 16/20s and after de-heading your shrimp sabe the heads and you pull the top shells off and fry up the heads and legs and thats pretty good.

when i used to work at a restaurant as a kid i was taught how to get the tail meat all out of the shell. you gently squeeze as you pull the shrimp out and the 3 fingers come right out of the shell. its a little tricky because squeeze too hard it breaks off, not enough and it doesnt release so there is a feel you get for it only with practice.

I did one time on accident. I was starving and had just arrived to MD Anderson to see my mom. Didn’t notice until about shrimp #4.

Sometimes.

As far as non fried shrimp go, I find it a major annoyance when shrimp are still wearing their pants in a shrimp salad, or some other dish where I'm not planning on using my fingers in my food.

I so agree, Darla. I can't stand it when the tails are on when the shrimp are not fried. The eye appeal isn't worth having to peel off the tail or, worse, leaving a nice piece of tail meat.

Sometimes, at sushi restaurants, I'll ask for fried heads.

Never ate the tails.

Fried, most of the time but never boiled or sauteed. My family thinks I'm weird too. 9yr old daughter just started eating them last year. I'm very proud!

When we were kids, my brother did. He said he like the plastic on the end of the shrimp.

My 3 year absolutely loves “trimp”, so one time I ordered her some fried shrimp and took the tails off and put them on the side of her plate. I look over a few minutes later and not only has she inhaled her shrimp, but she was working on finishing off the tails. I thought you couldn’t do that and freaked until my husband told me it was fine.
