Growing up I ate olive loaf and baloney regularly. In fact still today my favorite sandwich is 2 slices of bunny bread with a slice of baloney with blue plate mayo on one side and yellow mustard on the other. I do not eat this often but is the simple things in life that brings back memories.

I did learn they have a garlic baloney that is fantastic.

It’s a loooong way from you, it’s in Amarillo, we just bought it about a year and a half ago. It’s a side gig, I always wanted a burger joint and my step son runs it. It’s on the main street in downtown Amarillo, has a full bar too. If you are ever in Amarillo come see us, bologna sandwich and beer are on me!

Had a chili burger at Coyote Cafe the one time I was through town heading to Colorado Springs. I remember it because it was real Texas chili.

I’ve eaten all the above at one point or another. Fried bologna, liver cheese, chopped liver ... love it.

I have some Braunschweiger in the fridge now. I'll have a three or four crackers with it a couple of times a week until it is gone and won't buy for a year. As kids, when my Dad had to cook, we had the fried spam. I fried it a couple of years ago and it was garbage. Whenever my Dad cooked everything was just on the good side of being burned...everything was cooked to well done.

Jacque Pepin Chicken Liver Pate’

You can make this and roll into a log, refrigerate then slice. Cheap and easy and while it’s chicken liver not pork it is very good. I make it all the time.

Half of my family is from Philadelphia and I grew up eating Habbersett scrapple. They only ship during cold months but man that is good stuff.

Growing up when we went on vacations we stopped at rest areas and my mother would get the little ice chest out of the back of the station wagon and she would make bologna sandwiches for lunch.

Man, that brings back memories. Mom getting us 4 kids fed, while dad stood under a tree 100 yards away smoking a cigarette and cussing his life choices. Back before there was a McDonald's off every interstate exit.

And I mean all that in a good way. Dad was a great dad, just HATED road trips.

fried boloney and cheese sandwich is still my favorite as an adult. I got super excited on a fishing trip in florida a few years ago when the dinner we had lunch in had a fried boloney sandwich as a special. also smoked boloney is the bomb. I also love some pickle loaf.
