We did it at school. Put a quarter in the coke machine and get a bottle coke and 10 cents change. Use the 10 cents to buy a bag of Toms peanuts. Combine.

The school janitor was the change machine. Dude carried a huge bag of change. Seemed like a million bucks to us.

I absolutely remember this being "the thing" when I was a kid. I didn't do it much, but a lot of kids did.

Do it all the time. Accidentally put the spicy ones in one time. Now I like it better than putting the regular salted peanuts.

I remember and have done the old folks eating pickles with chocolate cake.

And on the grandparents farm we always put peanuts in an RC Cola. My mother put them in 6oz then 8oz glass Coke bottles all her life. She had one 2 days before she died as a request.

And I have several old types of machines

My Mom was the first one I saw do it back in the '70's in a glass bottle of coke. I tried it and the combo of sweet and salty is outstanding.
She also used to eat "Nabs". Peaunut butter and crackers, made by Tom's, and ate while she drank Coke. Good stuff. Haven't seen the "Nabs" in years

Awesomeness

My mom did it as I was growing up and I've tried it a few times. Pretty good.

peanuts in an RC Cola.

You are supposed to have a moon pie with your RC.

I also call crackers 'nabs', and I am only 40 years old.

A sip out of Coke bottle and fill with peanuts. Did this for many, many years. When peanut farmer Carter was elected president, 4 years doing without. Knowingly ate nothing containing peanuts.... my protest. At Nicholls State basketball games, my boys kept offering peanuts hoping I'd slip up and eat one. Never happened.

That's just, wrong. Glass bottle Coca-Cola Classic. I've tried it with the plastic bottles, and it just doesn't feel right or taste the same. Even using the small 12 oz plastic bottles.
