My wife and I are eating some mini Natchitoches meat pies and they seem to lack something. I think the crust to filling ratio is different than the regular size ones.

I think a good dipping sauce would help. What do y'all think would be good for this purpose? I'm kinda thinking a garlic butter sauce similar to Papa John's garlic sauce.

Maybe some Cousin's Creole Tomato salad dressing? I know that sounds weird, but I like it with crab cakes which are usually fried or baked, so it might be good on meat pies.

It's great, I use cane syrup instead of sugar, and if you use honey, it's a really good wing sauce.

Tomato Sauce, at least that's what they eat them with in Australia. An I don't mean ketchup.

Hidden Valley Ranch made from the powder packet with a little added garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika is the answer.

If they're the ones in the freezer dept of the grocery, I understand why. Those are not filled well. I've never used a sauce with meat pies. Maybe an au jus of some sort?

Make a garlic sauce with lots of garlic, olive oil, lemon and salt. Trader Joe's has one pre-made but they use canola oil. It's delicious for spinach pies so I imagine meat pie would be good in it too

Yeah, I've decided I would never get them again myself, but my wife went shopping this time. The bigger ones are passable, but nowhere near the real thing.

This sounds good, I'm more of a savory guy anyway.
