If you're wanting to have a nicer dinner in the city one night, I cannot recommend Le Coucou highly enough. One of the best meals of my life.

That anyone would downvote Le Bernardin is completely laughable but an accurate reflection of the sophistication and maturity of this board lately.

Gramercy tavern is great for a nice dinner. Go get some Pizza/Italian from Arturo’s great pizza and they have live music.

If you want a great hole in the wall, go get breakfast or lunch at Cheekys.

I totally agree with this. It’s very hard to get a table.

I believe someone mentioned it already, but Eataly is a really cool place to wander around in during lunch or brunch to grab a bite to eat.

Eataly is definitely a cool place for lunch. They opened one up not too far from my house and it's awesome being able to go grocery shopping with a drink in my hand.

Gramercy Tavern has a beer cellar if you want some older versions of KBS, Goose Island, etc. I believe their prices includes gratuity.

For dinner, if you like Asian, try Tao Downtown. Great atmosphere and food. I recommend the Chilean Sea Bass appetizer.. but all of the appetizers are delicious.

LINK

If you're interested in Italian, I like Eataly on 23rd and 5th Ave. It's Mario Batali and Lidia Bastianich's Italian food court that has different sections you can check out, depending on what suits you.. There's a pasta section, fish section, pizza, chacuterie and wine, dessert and coffee.. and a book and magazine section. it's a lot of fun.

If you're looking for something on the hip, modern, cutting edge NY kinda place, you can check out Indochine (pronounced End-O-Sheen) at 430 Lafayette Street. It's around Astor Place, which is a fun area to walk around.. near NYU. LINK

If you want to try Ramen, Momofuku Noodle Bar at 171 1st Avenue is always on the James Beard lists.. and the food is delicious. LINK

Union Square Café has new American cuisine. Very good place. LINK

If you want to do Tavern on the Green in Central Park, it's re-opened and remodeled and is also very good. LINK
