Friends,
After much deliberation and a lot of tears we have decided to close our Prairieville location. This decision was very difficult one to make, but to wait out the Covid-19 pandemic was financially unreasonable. We are especially sad to not have been able to say goodbye to our many wonderful and loyal customers in Ascension Parish. Y’all made the difficult job of running a small business enjoyable. We will miss everyone very much and we hope to see you at our original location on Coursey Boulevard in Baton Rouge.

Damn China virus takes away the best restaurant in the area.

That location didn’t help them any.

I remember they opened that one up right after they closed down the jefferson highway one across from towne center. Is the city pork restaurant that replaced it still there?
Regardless Dempseys was a fine restaurant and the amount of times I went there for a plate when I lived in the apartments across Jefferson outnumbered the city pork place about 50:1.

I'm in just to see if someone knows what's going in there.

Redoing building. No new tenant signed. Place needed some fixing up.

Tommy's Fish House
TJ Ribs and the 3 places at that location before it
The Italian Bowl
Tchew's BBQ
Porky's Pit
Sammy's
Rocco's
Popingo's in front of Half Shell before it changed for the worse
Dynasty Chinese Place (not to be confused with die nasty)
and now Dempsey's
It's not the China virus, it's Prairieville.
Damn you Prairieville

Probably nothing anytime soon, people aren’t exactly falling over each other to rent out restaurant space right now

I think this place was poorly managed and they ran out of funds. They were supposed to pop up on the west side of BR in Port Allen. Did that ever happen?
I really liked the place. I thought their moist brisket was really good along with smoked chicken. He also boiled crawfish very well. Lastly, they would do a steak night with steaks directly on charcoal and it was delicious.
