Weller 12 is only $30, but near impossible to find but one of the best Bourbons I have had
Angel's Envy would be my choice for the easy to find bottles in that price range
I'm a Bourbon guy, but I will occasionally drink ryes. You can have Tennessee whisky, unless it's Belle Meade Bourbon from Nashville. That's really good at $40

I went by the massive liquor store and I asked a guy there for a suggestion and he suggested Minor Case and said it was excellent and was on sale. Seemed to have pretty good reviews so I went t with that.

I'll follow up because I did some reading. The bottle I got is supposed to be very unique due to how the whiskey is being made.
The whiskey is only aged for two years, and then aged 8 months in a sherry cask to give it a more complex finish than other similarly aged whiskeys has been lacking.

Pro Tip on whisky. If it is finished in a different barrel that it started in, that is usually, but not always, a sure sign it is shite. The reason they double matured it in sherry cask is cause the first barrel sucked arse. Now this is not always true, however with 2yrs of age you might as well bought this shite.....

Yeah, , I'll keep the board updated. We didn't have any tonight at request of the event holder "we aint going to waste good whiksey on tonight " but the reviews I read mentioned that and said this was an exception to the rule.

It may be more than that, depending on the store, but it is worth it for sure.
I think Stagg Jr and Elijah Craig Barrel Proof are other good options.
