Just talking briefly about next time:

I'm thinking about something like: Past two winners nominate 4 ingredients (and me, because I want to), and then everyone votes on those. Instead of the open suggestion clusterfrick. Thoughts? Or everyone who participated in this one gets two entries and the winner picks 4...something like that.

I'm not taking the bait. I had a really really really barbed retort for you.

They have this same discussion on all of the cooking competitions... the problem is we cannot taste any of these "wacky/original" dishes to see if the combinations work or not.

Posted by Fun Bunch It was a creative use of peppermint. On a burger. Sorry, I'll give up on this one. 4 is WAY ahead at this point. No one will come close to catching it.

I asked myself, "do I want the guy who made a burger or the guy who made spherical beer choosing the next ingredients?"

4
1
8
7

I printed out a blank double elimination bracket and this is how it worked out for me.

I would eat any one of the 8 in a heartbeat though.

Great job guys.

Nah I really don't care at all. Just trying to make a case for others, to keep this going.

I knew 4 would run away with it when I saw it yesterday. I thought I would try to make a case to keep it interesting.

Didn't work. 4 is going to win in an absolute landslide. Not even close.

+1

I like keeping it relatively small .. 12 is a good number. then make it maybe 3 votes gets an ingredient in.

i will do the next one but I was out of town for this challenge.

What about top three pick one ingredient than you pick the fourth?

What's wrong with 4 winning? I haven't kept up too much, but it looks really good. Not the most creative but sometimes less is more.

I will say that it is very interesting that 4 is almost the unanimous winner.

Hopefully most people voted without seeing others reactions.

Yeah. I want to avoid the confusion, the crazy rules, and the clusterfrick suggestion thread.

I think that will be the easiest way.

Couple of things: I will be in New York for the first few days of the January, so it may not start until well into the month. And I can tell you what one of my suggestions will be...Champagne (if you use Prosecco, you will be murdered).

Nothing at all. It really is a damn fine entry, despite everything I've said in here.

I saw it yesterday and had a feeling it would own this. So I was trying to keep the voting interesting by adding discussion. Didn't work, 4 is ahead by a lot. I can probably call it now, but I'll keep it open most of the day.

7 and 8 had the weakest incorporation of the peppermint, imo. Which was the obvious wild card. Esp 8 was weak

No matter what the ingredients are for the next one I know right off the bat that I'm covering my final product in cheese. Winner winner!
