So I just moved to Dallas, and need to get acquainted with the local restaurant scene.

I know (and have had) Pecan Lodge and a few other BBQ places in the area. I'm looking for some general recommendations (any food type) in the Lower Greenville, Uptown, Knox, and Lakewood Heights areas.

Would go to Bishop Arts and Oak Cliff too.

TIA!

Edit: Edited the title for more specificity

Rapsacllion or their sister place Boulevardier
Nova
Tacos Mariachi
Desperados
Mia's (not Mia Cocina)
Mot Hai Ba
E-bar Mexican
Louie's....great dive bar with great super thin crust pizza.
Angry Dog for burgers
Teppo....small sushi place on lower Greenville.
John's cafe on low green for breakfast
Gold Rush cafe on lower Skillman for breakfast.
El Come Tacos

These are all casual places. Plenty of high end stuff in Dallas such as Stephen Pyles place.....I'll let someone else recommend those places.......oh....just call it Lakewood.....not Lakewood heights

If you keep recommending this gem, there will longer be a seat at the bar.

....Place has been there for 20 years but its not fancy, overpriced mediocrity......so it will never be a hit in Dallas.

I'll add a few spots with good food and beer selection:

Meddlesome Moth (Design District; one of the best gastropubs in the nation)
State & Allen (Uptown)
Luck (Trinity Grove)
Eno's (Bishop Arts)
Goodfriend (White Rock)
Dot's (Deep Ellum)

Desperados is better for inexpensive Mexican. Margaritas are bomb.

If you just want tacos, go to velvet taco on Henderson or tacos y mas on Greenville.

For real deal good shite, go to Javier's in highland park. The quail is amazing.

Unfortunately, Louie died a couple of years ago. But his brother and other family members are still there. More than once I witnessed Louie yelling at the top of his lungs at a complaining customer to "Get the frick out of my bar".

Lower Greenville

The Grape. Wine centric place run by a husband (chef) and wife (sommelier). Great place for apps, small plates and charcuterie. They also do a fantastic burger on Sundays and Mondays only.

My go to's:

Meddlesome Moth
EatZi's (It is an Italian food market with lots of good looking women)
MiCocina (get the Mambo Taxi margarita. My favorite meal is the Cocina Changa)
The Rustic (I believe they have the best brunch if you go with a group of people)
Twisted Root
Rodeo Goat
East Hampton Sandwich Co

Where are you living in Dallas?
