Group of about 10; going to top golf off Park Lane around 5 and then dinner afterwards. It's hot as hell and we won't be cleaning up before dinner.

Javier's was a thought but we won't be dressed well enough I don't think.

Throw me some options on this warm Friday afternoon!

Mexican:
Desperados (old school)...on Greenville north of Mockingbird
E Bar- My go to Mexican right now. 10 people will have to wait a while but that will be true everywhere on a Friday night.
Mia's- Best mexican in Dallas IMO. Postage stamp size bar/ waiting area but big dining area. I may go there tonight.
Torchy's on SMU Blvd. its fast casual but its Torchy's.

Could hit Twisted Root Burgers on SMU blvd.
There is always Snuffers.
Dodies Reef on lower greenville (LG).
Blind Butcher on LG
HG Supply (LG)

I went one time for lunch and it couldn't hold a candle to the other Mexican places you mentioned. I got the brisket tacos and obviously had chips and salsa and there was absolutely nothing noteworthy about it. The only flavor in any of it was the heat from the peppers.

Have you experienced any consistency issues there and it's possible I just went on an "off" day, or is it just me?

My boy Chris said Hopdoddy Burger Bar on McKinney. Solid selection of beers on tap and good burgers. He's a fat arse and a food connoisseur.

Also, park lane has some restaurants in it that might work for you guys. It's all chain type of stuff, but Grimaldi's makes solid pizzas and Gordon Biersch has a good burger.

Gonna be hard to find a spot with a sweaty group of 10 on a Friday night. Best of luck!

R Taco on Greenville is another good fast casual spot if you just want to grab some tacos, beers/margaritas, and guac and queso. It's probably going to be less crowded than Torchy's, but you shouldn't have a problem finding a spot at either.

I haven't. I've never heard anyone I know complain about Mia's.

possible.....or lunch not being their strong suit. I hardly ever eat mexcian for lunch so I don't know.

Looks like we are going to La Calle Doce instead of Mia's.

Goodfriend on Peavy is a great casual spot too.

HG's food is meh, the money maker is obviously the rooftop bar. I recommend rapscallion, teppo and terrelis. OR truck yards would be fun but with a group that big there's probably one pretentious douche who wouldn't like it.

I agree with you but 1. They were going to be sweaty hogs....so I didn't recommend Rapscallion or Teppo...
.2. Terrelis sucks.....
3. They are golfers. Golfers have no taste.
