Has anyone heard the news of them turning into a microbrewery? I grabbed two 6 packs today before they run out of stock.

microbrewery? don't they mean brewpub?

this is what happens to average to below average breweries that can't compete in the distribution market

Yeah they said it was to save money. I’m not driving to Lake Charles for beer

Their small batch stuff at the brewery is usually pretty good. The only beer they distribute that's worth a damn is Things Unsettled. I'd imagine they make next to nothing on the distribution side, but they make a killing at the brewery.

Depending on where you live it's worth the trip. It's a really nice place, with good food and good atmosphere

Things Unsettled is alright but I’d rather buy Jucifer or Holy Roller or even Voodoo and they’re usually right next to each other

Well if you see any pick them up. Crescent Crown distribution doesn’t have any in the warehouse. So what you see in the market is all that’s left

The 3 tier has its issues sure, but their distribution, off premise, was where it needed to be.
Local liquor
Grocery
Chain grocery
Convenience.

They had to of had at least one tap at every draughts account in Lake Charles.

I wish them the best, I have a blast at their brewery everytime I'm in LC.

Yea they actually had a decent Off Premise distribution and done fairly well in New Orleans getting On Premise tap handles. Like many local breweries, when On Premise shuts down there goes a huge amount of your sales. Domestic and national/regional craft can survive with the increased sales in Off Premise.

If you are a local brewery you lose all your tap handles, have the distributor wanting to split costs on the out of date beer in the market, and your cash cow tap room suddenly is shut down for months. It is an awful situation for a lot of these small guys in an already highly competitive space.

I saw this earlier this week. I hate to hear it but with the way the laws are set up in this state I get it. I do like their facility and they do generally have better beers on site that don’t make it to distribution. Hopefully they are able to get some good guest taps. Between this and the future taproom on the lake, I hope they will have some staying power.

When it was sitting next to Envie, Commotion, Holy Roller or, really, any other beer, I just couldn't bring myself to buy it. My first six-pack of their beer was my last. Hate to see any brewery not succeed, but I never did care for their beers.

It was really good. It’s like a mixture of holly roller and juicifer. It’s nice and smooth
