I started using the crock pot a lot recently. Got tired of cooking when I get home from work. Anyone have any tasty recipes for me to try?

I love making beef short ribs in mine. Put them in, add some salt and pepper, little bit of onion powder, some worchestershire or however its spelled, and some beef broth, about a cup.

You don't have to add liquid but it makes me feel better. Beef ribs are very fatty so the fat will render down as it cooks.

When I make it, I do it for 4 hours on high. You can do it before you head to work too, just put it on low and time it for around 8 hours.

It's very good. I use the slow cooker bags for easy cleanup.

Some of my favorites:
Boneless skinless chicken breast and salsa...cook on low all day, chicken tacos when you get home

Pork roast and bbq sauce...pulled pork sandwiches

chicken breast and bbq sauce...shredded bbq chicken sandwiches.

I also like to make red beans and rice in the crock pot

I like to spray my crock pot with oil (Pam). Trim the fat off a pork butt that you bought on sale. Slice onions and place in the bottom of the crock pot. Season your pork and place on top of onions. Place either sliced or baby carrots around the roast. Add chicken stock just over halfway up the roast. There will be more liquid in there when finished. Add sprigs of rosemary or thyme if you have them. Low for 8 hours. You can either eat it right away or let it cool uncovered in the fridge. Once cooled, you'll be able to spoon off the solid fat that will be left on top.

Can't find them right now, but a search will provide multiple threads. You may need the TD google search.

3 cups mayo
1 cup Apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup worchestshire
2/3 cup honey
3 tablespoons garlic powder
3 tablespoons onion powder
4 tablespoons salt
6 tablespoons black pepper
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper

Mix together.

Smother 5-6 chicken breasts with half of the sauce. Cook on low 6-8 hours.

Remove chicken from pot and shred.

Saturate shredded chicken with a few spoonfuls of the leftover liquid in the pot.

Serve however you want - sandwiches, salad - with the leftover sauce on the side at room temperature.
