I've never had much luck finding it in BR and usually just order from Amazon. Order now for delivery tomorrow.

Do you mean a hung dried product or just the shape?
Never found the dried and salted variety in louisiana. Which is insane. All the blending of german and french and no one dried a damned hog?

I buy Burgers' sliced country ham at Ponchatoula Rouses.
You can also order it on line. The attic aged is my favorite.

I make a trip to Nashville occasionally. I bring a bunch back when I go. It’s like link sausage here in La , there.

Hanging salted hams to air dry and cure requires cool and relatively dry fall and winter. The right climate is found in AR, TN, NC and points north. In Louisiana a big ham would rot rather than dry. What Louisiana does really well is hot smoked thinner bits of meat like tasso.
Buy something you like from TN and enjoy it without much delay. The marketing term "country ham" doesn't mean anything anymore. An alternate term is "hard ham".

It used to be around at grocery stores back in the 80s 90s and early 00s. We used to buy it in a vacuum sealed pack. my family makes a coffee gravy with it every Xmas morning with biscuits and grits.
My mom gets it online now.
