I like to go to the commercial kitchen places and pick out individual pieces. Honestly I could get by with just a 12” fry pan, a stovetop griddle, a few 1/2 sheet pans and a couple sizes of saucepans and Dutch ovens

Got a recommendation for a T-Fal Ultimate set on here a while back. Solid set of cookware, we absolutely love them.

I wouldn’t do a set. Like others said, do individual pieces. Definitely an enameled Dutch oven. I believe. 7.25 and 5.5 qt are both necessary. I also have a wide bottom LeCreuset thst is 6.75 quart that I really love. I love my all clad skillets, sauté pans and sauce pans. I also have the all clad non stick that has held up great. If it’s a wedding registry I’d ask for good shite. It will last. I spent a lot last year on my kitchen and I haven’t regretted it one bit. It’s made cooking much more fun.

Another vote for individual pieces instead of a set. I also would not get any expensive non-stick.

I've gone through a few sets of this type stuff and if you do a lot of cooking, they just don't hold up great and the pots used the most wind up losing their coating over time.
I've gone to Cuisinart Heavy Duty Stainless Steel pots and pans and they will never lose a coating and should last me the rest of my lifetime. I do keep a couple non-stick coated pans just for stuff like omelets and such and do have a good bit of old fashioned cast iron cookware to use, but my daily stuff is the SS pots and pans.

T Fal ultimate is the way to go.
Also buying the sets are silly.
Dutch ovens never wear out as they are mostly used for boiling.
Frying pans are key and T fal does as well as the very expensive sets.
One good cast iron is also a must.
