Could you cub cream cheese for pepperjack? I never really cared for the pepperjack boudin balls, so I don't think I'd like it here either.

It's just boudin and cheese wrapped in crescent rolls with toppings. I was expecting something more

Nothing wrong with that though. I use crescent rolls when I make a normal king cake as well and it always turns out well.

That's what any king cake really is. It's a worthy recipe anyway, you will get compliments. It's basic ingredients but put together well, just get the best ingredients you can and it will impress. I use Scott exit boudin and cracklins on top. Some people sub bacon. Nothing wrong with cream cheese and Jalapenos instead of the pepper jack. In fact that's what I'm going to do next time.... like Karchner's
