I live in Cape Canaveral - are you looking for high-end grub, really good bar food, casual on the water, all of the above? Will you be with a group that wants a memorable meal? This place has it all - give me a couple parameters and I can get you in the right places.

Sorry for the really delayed reply.

Used to work for JSC. Now working for Air Liquide. We have a plant at Merritt Island supplying KSC.

Looking for something laid back and not too expensive, up to $20 an entree'. It would just be me so sitting at the bar is what I typically do on work trips. I eat all types of food.

I know where the plant is - north SR-3 a couple miles before the KSC gate.

and my response is late because I'm traveling this week and schedule is a little hectic...but on to the subject of food...

I recommend Preacher Bar on A1A in Cape Canaveral - good food at good prices - and I eat at the bar most of the time instead of a table.

Also recommend Port Canaveral - several good bars and restaurants on the water - Grills, Fish Lips, Milliken's, and my favorite, Rusty's - all of them have indoor and outdoor bars and tables - if the weather cooperates eating and drinking outside at the Port is relaxing.

The most "happening" place in Cocoa Beach is Coconuts - it is right on the beach - a younger, more party crowd - and this is Spring Break season so expect large crowds of college kids.

Coasters on A1A typically has ~50 beers on tap - standard bar food but decent.

If you decide to go a little upscale one evening, try Sage - small bar, excellent restaurant - different crowd than the other places I've listed.

Enjoy the week - it's a great place to live IMHO.

This is perfect. Thanks!

I've been to KSC from my old JSC days but it was a very quick trip to see a launch and come back. Didn't have time to do much.

I just worked on big project for KSC to supplement the "air le key" He and N2 supplies. Giant ambient vaporizers.

Pig & Whistle is crusty, but I always enjoy sausage rolls and people watching from the bar.

Pineda Crossings

- not in Cocoa Bch but not too far and a beautiful drive especially if you go down SR3 on south Merritt Island.

Yeah we truck the He and Liquid N2 in for them. We have a pipeline for the gaseous N2, but they keep a storage of liquid for testing. It's cheaper for them to pull out of their backup versus using the premium stuff off the pipeline.

On a side note, thanks for all of the recommendations. Restaurants on The Cove were packed because of Spring Break. Preachers was pretty good. Really small on the inside.
Ended up at a place right along the beach road the other night just because I could walk from the hotel. Can't remember the name though. Food was decent, but not great.

Agree with Grills and Fish Lips being pretty solid.......Rusty's IMHO with the exception of the raw oysters is terrible.

Milliken's is OK but overpriced. Coconuts had superb food back before Chef Shawn left.

Taco City is funky and good, Fat Kahuna's and Florida's Fresh Grill are fairly sold as well.

Bringing this thread back up as I will be there again next week. Thinking of trying Sage for a nice night out and will spend an evening at the port so Fish Lips might be in order.
