Going to be in Lafayette for an event this weekend, and our group has reservations at Pamplona and Vestal for dinner, but may want spots for cocktails before/after.

Recommendations?

How big of a group? If you want to be nearby: Central Pizza, Spoonbill, and Hideaway on Lee have good cocktails. Little bit further out is Yard Goat, Corner Bar, Social, and LaFonda.

I'd just stick with Pamplona or Vestal bars before reservations unless looking for variety.

Small group…probably six. I was thinking we will likely go with the restaurant bars before dinner, but may want to move on after.

I was looking at Yard Goat, and LaFonda for daytime margaritas does sound like a good idea.

Thanks!

I'm not sure what the daytime crowd is like, but the bar at LaFonda sucks for dinner if you don't have one of the dozen or so seats. Not really conducive to a group of six. It's too narrow.

I have been there during the day on a Saturday and it wasnt bad. Agree it may be tight if all six are there.

Should also include the bar at The Chimes…

Been a while since you’ve been to La Fonda? There’s a big back bar area now.

I can’t really comment on day drinking there, were usually there around 5 or so.

ETA: if you’re looking for a bar atmosphere with good cocktails afterwards you could go to Palmyre or The Boardroom, both in River Ranch.

If you want to stay downtown Central Pizza has good cocktails, not sure how busy the bar area gets though, as it’s not very big (for a group of 6).

Whiskey and Vine is a solid place for drinks, pre or post dinner.

Those are both good places for cocktails downtown.

Another good place but in a different area.

It is sounding like this is probably going to be the choice, along with the restaurant bars.

Thanks, all!
