I’m sure it’s been discussed but I couldn’t find anything on search. Maybe there is a thread someone will link.

I am trying to decide between the classic joe 1 vs the classic joe 2 for a Kamado grill.

Or, is there another value brand I should consider?

Lowes has the classic for $749.00. free assembly and delivery. I got one last year. Also they told me if I got their credit card they would take $100.00 of the price. $649 plus tax and was out the door. I know they still have them at the Covington location.

Primo is a competitor and made in the USA. They offer a similarly priced kamodo style grill. It does not have the "divide and conquer" system though.

I do not have a kamodo but plan to get one eventually.

the classic II has a new ash tray and "daisy wheel" top if i remember correctly. I bought the classic I (older version) from Homedepot around Christmas for 599 plus tax delivered to my door. That included the nest to move it around on, the side wing tables, and the divide and concur complete system. I have been very happy with it so far.

I've had both and the Kamado is superior.

Not sure why you'd get 1 over 2 unless it's a price thing. I have the classic 2 and it's an upgrade over 1. 2 has a new top vent, oven gaskets instead of felt gaskets, and a divided fire box to reduce the likelihood of cracking. It also has a divided grill system for more customized grilling.

The Joe 1 I got at Lowes has those features also. I just replaced the felt gasket with the new fiberglass...that was $90.00.

Oh how we all missed out on those group buys that were done on the ODB. Those lucky SOBs got some pretty sweet deals.

I have the Classic 3 with the Slo Roller.

Definitely worth the money with all of the extras that are thrown in.

Also the new cradle for the Classic 3 is very stable and very easy to move around, will not turn over.
