Won the right to purchase a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 23 yr. at the Zuppardos Whiskey raffle. Have the bottle in hand with receipt, velvet bag. Bottle is numbered individually. Comparables online from 1,500 to 2,300.
I am in NOLA but will be in BR before Christmas to hand deliver.
Message me if you are interested.

Zuppardos made a killing tonight profit off that raffle

That's fricking crazy, honestly. Is that retail now, or did the retailer up it?
Posted on 12/2/16 at 9:51 pm to GRTiger
That's about double retail I think
Posted on 12/2/16 at 9:51 pm to GRTiger
I already got one of those. No thanks

Upped it, without a doubt. I'd bet even money Zuppardos paid Republic around $300 max for that bottle.

That's what I was thinking.
This is why I chase beer now.

It's 250-350 when it's priced right.

My pallette will never be sophisticated enough to justify that.

Bourbon boom of 2012 ruined the market...distributor price for PVW23
in Fall/Winter 2011 was $175
But seriously OP...just keep it and enjoy rather than trying to flip it if you don't care about whiskey. (Unless you're giving it to Unc at cost of course)
People showing up for raffles and trying to profit 2-3x off each bottle is what is ruining the industry

There is nothing wrong with what he's doing. Don't fret, I think the whiskey industry will survive products being in high demand

How much was the raffle ticket for?
Then you had to purchase it for $799.99?

I'm going to have to disagree with you there. This is the epitome of a free market. It's a 23 year old bottle of bourbon. Of course it's going to have a high resale value. Especially with the bourbon boom. It's not like they can just make more bourbon. They have to wait 8-12 years to increase production.
