Wow. I wonder if any of the chicken salads taste close to Calvin's which I'm having for lunch.

There are two in Lafayette. One in the oil center and the one on Ambassador.
Lafayette is all about chains these days.

I've never had Calvin's. Not sure where the nearest one is.

It's a neighborhood grocery store, so no other locations. But everyone is right that their chicken salad is awesome.

Never had it either. And nobody has the recipe.

Salad Station makes a good dollop of chicken salad.

Ah. So many people have posted about it I figured there had to be more than one! Thanks.

It's talked about often here. It's in Baton Rouge in a strip center at Corporate and Jefferson. The chicken salad is crack. I'm not a chicken fan, but this stuff is heaven.

Well, I had it for lunch yesterday, today and will tomorrow. When I bought it, I had to wait in line to grab it because so many folks were buying it also.

I had some of the chicken salad chick at a tailgate and wasn't real impressed. Yes calvins is great and there are better chicken salads in Lafayette than chicken salad chick. Veron's, Pouparts, and the one from Zydeco poboy is the best I've had.

That was the old Acme Burger then Acme Taco location, which I love, kind of an odd spot though since that whole area is just about dead after 5pm. Apparently that location on Coolidge does well with the lunch crowd but closes at 6pm, which seems super early. I assume they're wanting to stay open late enough to allow for people to make pickups on the way home from work but not late enough for people to actually go eat there. Didn't realize there is a location on Ambassador now though.

I hear Joey's is good too.
Haven't had it in a few years, but when I had it, it was very good. Most everything they have is good.

Lil' Veron's chicken salad is the shite. When we lived in Texas, when family would visit, they would pack some in an ice chest, b/c our kids loved it so much.
Disclaimer: we lived a few blocks from Veron's before we moved to TX, so it was ingrained. I also think their meatloaf is the best in town.
