Has anyone ever had dinner at a Chef's table in a restaurant? We sat at the bar which overlooks the kitchen in Emerils. Neat experience.

Did it once at R'evolution in New Orleans, awesome experience and one of the best meals of my life.

Also did it at Gouter a few times in BR... great meals there as well.

Sat in the kitchen at Commanders and ate like kings. You have your owner server who takes care of your wine pairings for the whole meal and it's basically your own chef.
I'm thinking it was 10-12 courses, but then when it came time for desserts, we got like one of everything they had.

It's only available for a party of four and Saturdays book up about 9 months in advance.

I've done Emeril's table in the kitchen several times. Great food and lots of fun. A LOT of food.

How many courses was it at Emerils and what did you get?
I had reservations for that a while back and had to cancel due to something, but I really want to try it.

I looked into this a few months back, and I believe it was $1200 for the table for 4.

For everything? Even the wine pairings? If so, that's not bad at all.

Both times were a while ago. I think we had 7 courses. The chef asked us if we had any special requests and we gave a few things. We had 4 people and one didn't want the courses, so he ordered from the menu and they were fine with that. I only remember wanting the mustard greens incorporated somewhere and that was done. I love the greens there. We had a shrimp dish, but it wasn't the bbq shrimp. Whatever it was, it was delicious. I probably wrote something here on it, but it could have been in the restaurant forum we used to have. I hate losing those reviews.

They brought every dessert on the menu to the table at the end. We were so full all we could do was taste them.

This was my only complaint at the Commanders one. All of that great dessert including the bread pudding souffle thing and I couldn't really enjoy it.

That sounds about right with the premium wine pairing. Might be a little less before tip though. I will have to ask the person who paid.

They served quite a few things that weren't on the menu so I think that's what made is such a unique experience.

Probably the shrimp Henican. Fried shrimp, pepper jelly, okra. Delicious dish.

Buddy of mine is the EC of a restaurant in Cambridge called Table Season to Taste. We always sit at the chef's table and it's a blast.

No, not at the Emeril's Chef's Table. I love that dish. I can hardly go to Commander's and not order it. I've had a larger version as my entree several times. It's so darn good.

Up north, the Mabry House in Shreveport does a chef’s table that is a lot of fun. Held 8 when we did it a few years ago.

They bring a little of this, a little of that, next thing you know you are stuffed to the gills. Wine pairings for each.

Have done many chef's tables. Watching the chefs work/interacting with them can be fun.

Did Minibar in DC recently. 12 seat restaurant that only does tasting menus.
