I still drool when I think about that biscuit from cowbell though.

It may be because it was the last thing I ate yesterday, but I found the biscuit had a little too much going on for my liking. Flavors kind of got muddled.

I was told that one of the bigger teams was DQ'd for giving a beer to a non member. This team raised a ton of money for the event and wasn't recogized for their effort. All team's that raised over $10k were acknowledged, this team raised much higher, and wasn't even mentioned. I really hope the organization can seperate the BBQ contest from the main focus (fund raising) of the event. This is unfortunate. Too much hard work and money to not thank the effort.

Do you care to clarify the situation?

This is the way it was presented to me from a person on the team. I believe BO knows the situation I am talking about, and I would gladly listen to his side of the story. I hope it was a misunderstanding of the situation, but that is how my friend felt when it was over.

Here is what happened. Basically we have a lot of counting to do in a short amount of time. We asked teams with significant checks to give those checks to one of three people prior to 3 pm. One team gave an envelope of checks to one of our interns who dropped it at the bank.

So when we did the final fundraising totals we were not aware those extra checks had come in on behalf of a certain team. That is whey they were only announced as raising a certain amount of money on stage. They brought it to our attention, we found the checks, and they have moved to their rightful place as one of our top fundraising teams. Their new total will be included in the post event press release.

There was no DQ'ing and we greatly appreciate all the work that all our teams do.
