I'm probably going to be in Chattanooga with the family for a few days. I don't expect much for food offerings, but I'm all ears for suggestions. I'm at a total loss for what I might find in terms of beer selection. Bearded Iris looks like it has some distribution in that part of Tennessee. I'm a fan of the cloudy IPA style if that helps.

Beast and Barrel was another place I enjoyed.

This place was definitely fun for a casual drink/dinner

Good list, but Market Street Tavern closed years ago. It's first location is now Community Pie. It's alright, they do more of a Neapolitan style pizza. I prefer Lupi's. Second location was a Mexican place, but I think it changed again. That whole section keeps changing and I don't keep up anymore lol.

I will add:

Tony's Pasta shop in the art district is decent Italian and a good place to walk around for a date. Head over to the Ice Cream Show by the walking bridge and get an ice cream and walk the bridge. Instant train to sexy time with that one. Clumpie's is probably the better ice cream, but it's on the northshore of the bridge. Julie Darling donuts are pretty damn good on that side too.

Alleia on Main Street does some decent stuff. Italian fusion place, higher end dining.

Main Street Meats competes with Tremont Tavern for best burger in the city. Don't waste your time with Urban Stack.

Niedlov's Bread is a good place to grab a sandwich for lunch.

You can pub crawl around Main Street too. Some decent fun spots all through there. Clyde's/Flying Squirrl/Terminal/Feed/etc. Plus all the new places they stuck in the Choo Choo.

If you head up on Lookout Mountain. Cafe on the Corner is a decent stop.

Champy's Chicken is ok fried chicken, it's greasy as hell though. I think the owner is an LSU guy. Tamales and key lime are good.

St Johns Meeting Place is high end.

Hot Chocolatier is a fun dessert place. The frozen hot chocolate is very good, plus Chattanooga Whiskey is right next door.

Heaven & Ale has a ton of different beers, it's pretty much just a beer place.

Brewhaus is a German fusion bar, usually have a decent selection of beers. Food can be hit or miss.

Yellow Deli is an interesting experience. It's over by the college. Run by a commune, but damn good sandwiches. They don't have bacon though.

BBQ wise Sugar's, Sticky Fingers, and Porkers are the most well known. Porkers use to be decent, it's where Bush ate when he came to town. They seem to be on cruise control now though. Sticky's is just meh. I don't like Sugars. We have a few others, but none of them really stick out.

We ate lunch at The Blue Plate last summer. It was pretty good. I wasn't drinking, but I remember them having a pretty nice selection, and a nice bar.
If you have kids, walk them across the Walnt street bridge, get some Clumpies ice cream and chill in the park.

This. In fact, even if you don't have kids, you should do this.

Tremont tavern has the best burger in Chattanooga.
The meeting place shares a kitchen with St Johns so you get excellent food with a more casual environment (and cheaper prices)

Lupis has excellent pizza

Feed co. is pretty delicious they are owned by the guy that owns tremont so you can get a tremont burger here as well

Champy's is great fried chicken but their tamales are my favorite. Get the sausage and cheese platter for an app. Its great

Taco Mamacita is an interesting take on mexican

Maple Street Biscuit is pretty good

Aretha Frankensteins has awesome giant pancakes

Hutton & Smith is a great brewery although I have only had their IPA

That's interesting. We have a Champy's Chicken in Daphne, AL that serves good fried chicken and tamales. It's a whole in the wall that plays the blues and has cute waitresses. I didn't know there was more than one of those.

Same chain, started here I believe. It's in a couple other cities too.

Feed just isn't the same to me, they over salt a lot and don't usually have the same quality. Tremont is the better place to go. If you enjoy honey mustard, their homemade stuff is top notch at both places.
