Will arrive Sat eve and leave Monday morning, killing time toward vacation destination. Any rec's on lunch, dinner, supper. Or places to stay and things to do. Not worried about cost. Just the wife and I and a puppy named Pester

Recently ate at snob and the ordinary. I was blown away by the ordinary. Order a little of everything. The smoked oysters came from heaven. Afterwards you can walk down king to prohibition for a drink or 2. Butcher and bee was a solid lunch spot with a good brewery next door (Edmonds Oast—they have a second location nearby).

Charles Towne fermentory was my favorite brewery.

I thought the boat tour to ft Sumter was pretty badass and I’m not much of a history guy. We also did a carriage ride tour that was pretty cool but not as good as ft Sumter

ETA: we stayed at the grand bohemian hotel autograph collection which was in a great location.

Same thread on travel board.

Search this site and you will have well over a dozen threads on this. Charleston and Asheville are two of the most popular cities people come to this board seeking advice for, and our posters deliver every time.

I'm in on the thread for the recs. But I'm living around Greenville right now, and when I was living downtown, everyone talked about how amazing Husk is. It's the same owners, so I'm sure it's equally as good in Charleston.

The quality and presentation at Husk is top notch for sure, I'm just not a fan of their style of food.

If you want to try the whole tasting menu thing (with a touch of molecular gastronomy), I highly recommend McCrady's Tasting Room. It's not cheap, and it can be hard to land reservations at the last minute, but that was some of the best food I've had anywhere. If you do, go with the wine pairing as well.

Hall's Chophouse
R Kitchen
Fig
82 Queen

R kitchen and Hall's Chophouse are fantastic. Do not know if you can get a reservation to either with such short notice.

I searched first, arse. Didn't know there was a rule against posting on 2 boards. My apologies. Thought that would be best for more replies.

The cornbread at Edmund's Oast was memorable. Lewis BBQ is very good. Shrimp-n-grits at Landing was solid.

Haven't eaten at SNOB, Husk so try them but CHS has been underwhelming.

The search function is terrible.

That said, there was nothing about HHG’s post to be offended by.
