We know Cava closed and these baws were taking it over. Little more detail.

"Nick Hufft, with his business partner Lon Marchand, runs two restaurants in Baton Rouge: Curbside Burgers and The Overpass Merchant. For his next place"

"Hufft said he and Marchand are still developing the unnamed restaurant. Curbside in Baton Rouge is both a burger restaurant and a food truck on the LSU campus, so they know a hamburger will be served at the Harrison Avenue restaurant. Other offerings will be closer to Overpass Merchant, where the menu includes smoked-pork steam buns, lamb sliders, brisket tacos and coconut shrimp tacos."

Overpass Merchant is awesome, that same concept will do well in that location.

If they put the cheese curds and chicken skins on the menu, I will visit for that alone.

I went to Curbside on Government? once. It wasn't any better than anything we have here.

Good for Nick and Lon. They both live in Nola and commute to BR daily. They knew what they’re doing—start off in a vulnerable restaurant market, make a name for theirselves then open a place in Nola. Nick has a lot of connections in lake view. This new place will do well.

you are gonna get hate, but Curbside was great as a truck.... For a burger from a truck. The restaurant is no better than the plethora of burger joints in BR.

He has done better with the Merchant burger though.

let the down votes rain!

Idk about all that but Nick was on the front lines of the Nola burger invasion back when he was running curbside pop ups around NOLA. Then went into Barcadia. He took the long road back to the city.They were putting out the best burgers outside of Company for my tastes

Barcadia was a total train wreck when curbside left and they still haven’t recovered. You have to give it the guy he’s run two successful restaurants since then. It was only time he would come back to Nola, this isn’t really a city to test out a brick and mortar. He knows a lot of folks in the neighborhood that will keep this place afloat.

Yea Lon lives in Uptown so Lakeview is a hell of a lot closer than BR.

Oh im not questioning their ability to run a profitable restaurant. They know what theyre doing and are even better people

Im just saying nick had a pretty big following in NOLA, it's what propelled him from low rent popups into the Barcadia gig. Opportunity called in BR but I think he had the steam to open his own joint here if he wanted.

Wife and I walked past last night and say the liquor license application notification on the front door. The name was "Juniors". So is it true? Is Harrison getting another burger place?

I agree with your post, aside from Three B's. Burger is good but a bit pricey.

After reading the Nola article I am a bit more excited, particularly after seeing what Overpass Merchant has.
