The texture and consistent work better as a dipping vegetable.

Can we just be honest and say that a spoon would be a way more effective way of shoveling ranch dip into my piehole?
If I'm limited to the vegetables on the tray, cauliflower is my last choice unless there are bell peppers. Carrots FTW because I like carrots, followed by broccoli, followed by cauliflower. If there are bell peppers, then the bell peppers are dead last because they're usually sliced so thin that they're just a pain in the arse to get the right amount of dip on.
Crudite is serious business.

Raw cauliflower is neutral in taste so it is the superior raw dipping vegetable

I'll allow it.

Raw cauliflower is way better than raw broccoli.

I try to get a few of every raw veggie on the tray, so as not to hurt any sensitive veggie feelings.
cauliflower
carrots
radishes
celery
broccoli
turnips
Fritos
Tater Chips
Did I leave anyone out?

The problem with cauliflower from a garden point of view is once you harvest the head it is done and you pull it up with nothing to replace. With broccoli once you cut the head you leave the plant and it will continue to give you side shoots throughout the growing season.
From a purely economic point of view you get a better return on your investment with broccoli.
I eat neither raw and unless I personally see the vegetables being washed I avoid all vegetable trays.

Broccoli is far superior from a nutritional standpoint, but tastewise I'm indifferent I like them both

I blanch my vegetable trays. Softens the veggies just barely, and it is like turning up the color saturation.
I prefer broccolini over regular broccoli.
