I work downtown so we go there fairly often. The Chicken tenders are money, make sure to get extra honey-dijon. The fries are addicting, and I am not a big french fry person.

Also, the turkey sandwich and chicken salad sandwich are pretty good at lunch also.

Went to the one on Sherwood a couple years back, and didn't care for it much.

BUT-- saw on their sign that on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings they are offering charbroiled oysters for 50 cents each... looks like I'll be making a return visit soon.

I've always liked the blackened chicken. And their mashed potatoes are awesome.

It is a solid place, not super special, but what they do, they do well. The $30 prime rib for 2 special is a steal. It's not every night, so ask. Nice people, reasonable prices, solid food, beats the hell out of chain crap like Outback. Put it in the same class as Mason's.

It's awesome how a board of people who claim to be such experts on food think that CCG is such a great place to dine. Like I said, "crap" may be a little strong of a word, but jesus christ you act like it's really that good. All I am saying is that when I worked downtown we would order food from there every now and then. For the most part, no one I worked with really cared to much for the food. Maybe it's just the one downtown.

CCG...

eat there about once a month. pecan chicken salad is the shite. Burgers are good (although, the sometimes undercook them).

Had the blackened chicken there once. That was not very good.

Firstly, I don't think that anyone on the F&D board considers themselves experts. We like to think of ourselves as armchair chefs (some just happen to be better at it than others).

As for saying it's a great place...yeah it's alright for where it is. Look, if I want the best burger downtown, I'll go to Riverside Patty. If I want the "best" sushi, I'll go to Tsunami (only because they are the only sushi game in downtown BR, not because I think their sushi is all that great). But if I want to have lunch in a nice place downtown that' cheaper than Stroube's, i'm going to CCG. The food is good, but more importantly, it's consistent. Is it Stella, August, MiLa? No, but it's not trying to be.

this thread is a dead end. ccg has good food. there are much worst places in br to bang on. u want a burger? go. u want solid gumbo and a salad? go. u want a decent seafood meal for decent prices? go. u want august? go to new orleans.....

bosox, sorry bro - u stop by the place on sherwood for a neighborhood meal, its a good spot.

Thanks for all the help!
Started off with Stuffed Mushrooms, delicous. I went with the French Dip (havent had one in awhile)it was pretty good. Wife had the MahiMahi topped with crabmeat, she said it was decent, nothing spectacular. A couple of friends got one of the specials...filet topped with crabmeat and damn if that wasnt one of the best steaks I have ever tasted. Total Suprise.
All in all, good experience.
