Definitely a coupon guy.

It's a stupid charge, but there are a lot better reasons to not go back to BWW than .20. Namely that Plucker's is right down the road and is far superior.
We already know why you think Pluckers is superior.

Pluckers is 1000 times better and the club offers good deals. FACT.

If the menu stated regular fries for $3.00 and seasoned fries for $3.20, would you still be outraged?

It's not the 20 cents it's the principle. Like the OP said, they'll start charging you for a lemon next. These corporate assholes are all fricking nerdy spreadsheet losers who have no idea what really goes on the front line.
"hey boss let's start charging $.20 for seasoning. That'll increase revenue by $150,000 for FY2011. They have no regard for any other variables that may come into play. I'm not mad about the .20 cents, it's the greedy assholes at the top who will do anything to pinch a penny without regard to customer service.
And FTR, I wouldn't blackball an establishment over the trivial dollar amount. I just wanted to rant and rave about bullshite large corporations who basically run America.

Old Man Pocorello charges extra if you want a lemon.
He doesn't fit any of the criteria you mentioned.

because it is

What's your point? I didn't say local businesses can't do the same. 95% of the time, this type of practice comes from chains & corporations.

While I am not in the restaurant biz, I found myself slightly offended by this statement.
Minimizes spreadsheet and goes to lunch.

This thread just got smaller... and I laugh at anyone who thinks BWW is on par with Pluckers. Just talking about the food, here.

Just curious what they told you when you questioned the charges at the restaurant? As upset as you are I'm sure you brought it to there attention.

All of you calling the OP "cheap" etc. and pretending this is actually about the 20 cents know it has nothing to do with the 20 cents.
I wouldn't not go back, but I would have said something like "you've got to be kidding me. 20 cents for seasoning?"

Or, people who go out to eat can simply accept the fact that not all restaurants charge for things in the same manner. At a 5* steakhouse, I would not expect to see a .20 charge for seasoning on the fries. If I did, I'd mention it to the waiter/mgr not because of the dollar amount, but because it's a cheesy, petty thing to add to a $150 bill.
If I'm at ANY cheesy chain restaurant, I'm fully expecting to have a charge for this, that and the other, even when it's not expressly listed on the menu. I have a threshold for these charges. .25 for lemon, seasoning, extra sauce, to go utensils, etc will not burn me up. $10 for 3 shrimp as a topping, $5 for an iced tea refill, being charged for a drink the waitress spilled on the way to the table, yes. I will discuss and disagree with those charges with the mgr/server. If after the discussion, I feel as though I was ignored and the situation was not handled to my liking, I will actually inform the mgmt in perfectly calm tone that we will not be back, and I thank them for shortening our list of regular restaurants and I stick to my decision.
I do not get on a message board and bitch about .20 charge after I said nothing to the staff and will then probably return to said establishment anyway because I'm too cheap to avoid the .50 wing night.

I guarantee you if the OP had done that, the manager would have comped him for the seasoning.
I guess the moral of the story is that principles or not, 20 cents isn't worth getting bent out of shape over. Especially considering the markup you're paying on bulk restaurant food in the first place.
