Someone mentioned a poboy shop in Metairie called Buddy’s. Never heard of it however, when I looked it up it’s been around for ever! Anyone know anything about this place?

I've lived in Metairie almost my whole life and I never knew they existed.

Agree. The sign says since 1980 but a menu I found online says since 1961.

Yeah, it's a tiny little shack of a place behind Jiggers a half a block off of Veterans.
I used to pick up food from there sometimes and always enjoyed. Good and fresh seafood, poboys, and a few plate lunches, etc. You could even see the old ladies putting batter on the seafood to fry it while you waited.
It kind of went downhill maybe five years ago and I think it was sold not long after and I still haven't been back.
There is a similar, but very good place 4 or so blocks to the east called Poboy King.
If you also need another hidden gym in the general area, hit up Rodasta's in old Metairie.

I've gotten their roast beef po-boys a few times. Pretty good. Apparently they make some decent fried chicken too.
