As much as this board loves to rag on bad BBQ, check out Brooklyn BBQ on Twitter. Even the Norks are offended.

Brisket looks like something you might get at Rouses, though their pulled pork is pretty good, and their smoked chicken is totally legit.

I bet that plate costs $50 and hipsters will line up for blocks just to lick the empty trays

You can really tell by the melt on twitter the number of people who didn't actually read the article. Instead they looked at a photo and freaked out.

Yeah, I think I'll just stick with Killens, Corkscrew, and Blue Oak.

So you wouldn't try any of the places listed? That's a bit ridiculous.

In Brooklyn? No I don't imagine I'd be trying a BBQ place if I was visiting New York for a couple days.

I saw that post right when it happened, and had no clue it would get that kind of viral reaction.

If you read any comments you might have seen mine, which dealt with New York automatically thinking anything they're doing is the best/coolest/most desirable, which couldn't be further from the truth.

people got upset about a headline and picture, the article was more about decor and doing things without an inherent local tradition.

Just another example of people projecting on Twitter. A shock, I know.

That being said though, it is still a very much "New York is doing it so clearly everyone else must be copying it", which isn't true.

The local doughnut shop just tweeted out "why are Brooklyn doughnuts taking over the world? See our column inside" with this picture as the caption.
