This used to be one of my favorite places to eat in BR along with the Chimes. Now, I haven't been back to BR in over a decade. Does BB still bring it?

Had a mushroom-swiss burger and cheese fries from the Government location Friday night. Kid had grilled cheese and he was quite impressed.

I say they still bring it.

My recent experiences have been hit and miss. I usually stick with their burgers and fries. Several times in the past couple of years, I've gotten cold fries and over cooked (dry) burgers. Not every time, but enough to lessen my desire to frequent the place.

There's no excuse for cold fries. You should send back cold fries.

The Government Street location is still solid. It's good food at a good price, but they're great at nothing. There are better places for burgers (The Merchant, 5 Guys, Raul's), better places for po'boys (capital city crawfish, the chimes), seafood (parrain's, acme), ect., but my wife loves the place so it's an easy compromise.

Have always thought Brew-Bacher's was overrated. Take your arse to AM Mart.

The original owners got out of the business.
The remaining ones are individually owned now.
The service really went down at the one on Nicholson before it closed.
I still go to one in Gonzales and it's still good, too much competition from chains has hurt places like Brewbacher's.

I've had several of the sandwiches including burgers at Bluebonnet and they've all been average at best. I've yet to find one I'd order again. OTOH, their fried catfish dinner is consistently good. That's what I stick to now.

The one on Drusilla is deplorable. Food is decent, but that location sure could use some updating and improvements.

Nothing spectacular, but it's still pretty good. The French Dip and chicken croissant are both solid. Burgers are fine too, but not quite top notch.

Fries are very generic and nothing to write home about either.

Their onion rings are pretty good. I like their sandwiches too.. So many other places popping up, I haven't been in a while.

Wrong. The father and uncle no longer involved day to day. The sons run them now.

I didn't like it when I was in school but people always wanted to go there for some reason.

And they bought On the Half Shell in Prairieville.

I only eat at Drusilla but you have to throw your clothes away after.

The food isn't anything extraordinary, although consistent... But,sum bitch they serve some cold Miller Lites... We prolly hit it up once every 4-6wks on a Friday night. Catch some live music and cold beer.

Drusilla is a shite hole as far as then building goes but it has one of the best burgers in Br tho.
It must be the lack of cleaning the grill from the day before and keeping all that flava.

This...

I go to the one on Bluebonnet and sit at the bar. Good service at the bar, cold beer, and decent food.
