don't forget, the mason's location on old jefferson was lapedigo's at one time too ..

Before LaPedigos Don Pedigo owned Sherwood Gardens - A hole in the wall bar on Florida Blvd and had Free Steaks on Saturdays.

Now what was the name of the bar on Jefferson before it was La Pedigos

Asking you, I have been trying to remember for a few years now. Had an Oyster bar on the side and great plate lunches.

There was a La Pedigos on Jefferson?

Is the one on Tom Drive still open? About 5 years ago, I used to work off Florida and would eat there often. Dirty and dingy, but good nonetheless.

Several years ago there was a place called Buddy's Seafood & Steakhouse, or something like that. This place had some of the best steaks.

I remember the $10 steak, baked potato and bread.

He's closed on Tom. I believe he had some tax problems.

Buddy was a good guy, who was good at picking bad locations. Four locations at least that I know of.

Old Catfish house on Florida
Then Harrels ferry
Then O'neal Lane
Then George O'Neal

I think that location shut down (again). There is one in Prairieville though.

Godfather's in Prairieville shut down a couple of years ago. I think it a Las Palmas now.

I also want to know the name of the place. I asked a friend of mine who I thought for sure could give me the answer but he couldn't. I need to question more oldtimers.

I asked Smokey at George's once if he knew what was originally at his location on G O'neal before Prytania(sp) and he didn't know. I'd like to know that as well. It seemed that there was a building located on where the parking lot is at George's.

KFC on Jones Creek.

Also, anyone remember the restaurant on Antioch (the antioch between tiger bend and jefferson) that had the old sign from one of the downtown movie theaters? Either the Hart or Paramount I think.

ETA: Was "The Gordon" the name of the 3rd downtown theater?

Yes. It was right down the street from St. Joseph Cathedral. Owned by a fellow named Gordon Ogden if I remember correctly.

What was the name of the bar on Jefferson where it forks to tiger bend. It was on the left side of the road if you're coming from airline, was it CG's, or something like that?? This was circa 1999

Yep. I used to patronize his Harrel's Ferry place and then the little place on O'Neal. Good cold beer, steaks and fried fish or shrimp.

Charlie Warfields, the closest in BR you were going to get to a homeade burger.

They also had a bar full of toppings for you to dress your burger however you wanted to.

You're right I forgot Buddy had a fifth location on Jones Creek.

The restaurant on Antioch was the Paramount.

Another place I miss this Burger Chalet in Central on Wax road, Great burgers and a solid open face roast beef San which.

Can't believe nobody's mentioned Pete N' Tilly's Pizza. They were on the Highland side of the shopping center north of LSU back in the 70s.

They had a double stack pizza that I could only eat 2 slices of.

Also have fond memories of Blimpie (Blimpie Best), Round the Corner (pizza burger), Pedro's, Godfather's, Mr Gatti's and The Caterie (fried mushrooms were great).
