I'm coming in town for Christmas and always like to drink brews we don't have at home in AL. I usually hit Calandro's off Siegen, but are there any better craft beer stores or groceries with a better selection?

TIA.

Matherne's has a good selection, but Albertson's has shite for a selection, unless you like the 14 different variation of orange flavors in shock top.

Stick with Calandro's, by and far the best place. Occasionally Cuban Liquor or Marcello's Wine Warehouse has a few that Calandro's may be out of.

Thanks. Calandro's selection is legit. I just didn't know if there were better places I was missing.

Marcello's. I found Calandro's to be overrated. Or, alternately, just go to the Cove and drink for hours at a time

Is Marcello's more expensive than Calandro's?

Honestly??

I know some people have their preferences based on proximity or knowing people that own it but you really can't say that any other store in BR has a better selection of craft and import beer than Calandro's on Perkins.

Maybe my expectations were too high. I'll need to go back.

When ranking Caladro's vs Marcello's, it goes as follows:

Calandro's Perkins > Marcello's > Calandro's Gov't.

Though I thought I heard recently that Gov't has stepped up their game some.

I've never been to that one.

Picked up the new Stillwater from Perkins last night. Looking forward to trying it on my hunting trip.

Plus a few De Struise beers.

Calandros on Perkins is hands down the best. When I moved back to Nola I was afraid they wouldn't have a shop to rival calandros selection.

Then I found Stiens

I had a hunch that might be the case. No sane local person would find the Perkins Calandro's to be overrated

Overrated? We aren't talking about a bar or food spot. But it is fact that Calandro's has the best choice for beer in BR. It's not an opinionated question. It's a fact.
